Vaihto-opiskelijamme Sara and Katrijn

Moi ,

Me olemme (oudot) vaihto-oppilaat Italiasta ja Belgiasta ja asumme nyt Kokkolassa! Meidän koulu on Yhteislyseon toimipaikka. We have been in Finland since the beginning of the school year and we will go back to our countries in June.

We are really enjoying our schooldays because the school system is so different from both our counties. We both participated in Wanhat and loved it soo much! For us it was a day never to forget because we don’t have these kind of celebrations in our schools in Italy and Belgium.

Of course we are also enjoying our life outside school! Finland is a great country and the landscapes are breathtaking. We both liked the trip to Lapland that we made with AFS, our organization. We did snowshoe hiking, downhill skiing, we got our reindeer driving license, we visited Santa in Rovaniemi but we didn’t see the northern lights. Please let us know if you do because we are dying to see them!

We have also found Finnish people really interesting. You people say you are shy, but actually it’s just an excuse for not speaking English and avoiding extra personal contact. So here is another thing we don’t really understand about Finnish people. If everyone is so shy, how does it come that everyone has a boy/girlfriend? Please feel free to come and give us some information :).
We really love Finnish winter and the snow! We have both seen snow before but not this much. We believe it has something magical! How come not all Finnish like this?

For all the students: feel free to come and talk to us if you want know something about us or just have a deep conversation about life.  We can promise you we don’t eat people in our countries!

Tervehdys ja rakkaus,
Kyoko (Italia) ja Katrijn (Belgia)
